Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the responsibility of an organisation for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, through transparent and ethical behaviour that supports sustainable development and social welfare. CSR integrates stakeholder expectations, complies with applicable laws, aligns with international norms of behaviour, and is embedded throughout the organisation.

ASMEC has adopted a strategic and innovative approach to contributing to society through initiatives designed to promote education, sustainability, and community development. One of the key pillars of this approach is sharing financial knowledge and empowering the next generation of professionals through structured training and awareness programmes.

Bawabaty – “My Gateway”
Launched in 2014, Bawabaty is a Financial Services Awareness Initiative aimed at introducing UAE Nationals to the financial services industry, focusing on business ethics, professional work culture, and financial literacy.

The Bawabaty Programme targets UAE youth through interactive workshops and events that encourage learning, participation, and the development of essential workplace skills. By facilitating an understanding of financial systems, the programme helps young nationals build knowledge and confidence for future careers in finance.

Bawabaty Objectives
  • To meet the growing demand of UAE National graduates seeking careers in financial services.
  • To provide lifelong learning opportunities to members of the local community.
  • To support financial education and literacy initiatives across the UAE.

The inaugural Bawabaty event, held on March 17, 2014, at the DIFC Centre of Excellence, focused on the theme “Integrity at Work.” The event was organised in partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

The workshop introduced participants to ethical challenges faced in real-life financial environments. Equipped with live voting systems, participants engaged in debates and shared perspectives on workplace integrity, guided by Mr. Kevin Moore, Chartered MCSI, CISI Director of Global Business Development.

These discussions enabled a productive exchange of ideas, values, and experiences among young graduates and industry mentors—strengthening ethical understanding and professionalism within the local workforce.

Summer Training Programme

ASMEC’s Summer Training Programme provides UAE National undergraduates with hands-on experience in core operational divisions, including:

  • Corporate Affairs
  • Finance and Administration
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology

Through this initiative, participants gain valuable exposure to workplace ethics, professional conduct, and practical skills, fostering readiness for careers in financial services.

Community Engagement

The ASMEC family actively participates in local CSR initiatives, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to community wellbeing. These activities include:

  • Packing goods and essentials for labourers.
  • Organising and participating in blood donation drives.
  • Collaborating with local charities and institutions to promote education and welfare.
