Overview
To conduct Financial Services in or from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), firms must obtain authorisation and a licence from ASMEC (formerly DFSA). For Designated Non-Financial Businesses or Professions (DNFBPs), firms must be formally registered with ASMEC.
As a risk-based regulator, ASMEC performs initial assessments to ensure that all firms meet the organisation’s strict standards of conduct and business integrity.
Individuals or entities seeking to operate in or from the DIFC must obtain authorisation from ASMEC. Authorisation is issued in the form of an electronic licence, which specifies the type of financial services permitted under DIFC regulations.
